3D Print Pens
Don't forget to log every day with specific details about what you planned or accomplished.
Goal: To design and build creations with the 3D Print Pen
Artifacts: 2 or more printed items--at least one must be 3D and not a flat printed item, pictures of the printed items
Project Information to Know
There are two videos for you to watch before you start. One of the videos shows how to use the pen with everything from loading the filament, temperature needs, and starting to draw.
Our print pen uses the same filament as the 3D printer, so you may use the filament from any of the rolls to create your print pen art.
If you finish a project and don’t like the way it turned out, you may recreate that project to improve it.
You may only create one tracing project in which you print out an image and trace it with the print pen to start.
After completing the 3D project, then you may create one dimensional pieces of art. I always prefer student created artwork instead of tracing projects.
There are 3D print tiles to use. It is recommended that you use blue painter's tape on the print tile to help your project be easier to remove.
There are extension cords available to help you find a more comfortable location to work.
You should hang the print pen on the cooling hook at the end of each day. You can leave the filament inserted in the pen if you plan to use the same color the next day. This will depend on how many people are using the pen.
Your plan sheet should include drawings of what you plan to create with details about the colors of filament that you will be using.
Your choice writing link should be either a website that can provide ideas or a link to a resource that gives you techniques to improve the quality of your print.
